Fluorosilicone grease is usually made from fluorosilicone oil as the raw material, mixed with solid or composite solid smoothing agents, and suitable additives. Common solid smoothing agents include polytetrafluoroethylene micro powder, molybdenum disulfide, graphite, tungsten disulfide, etc. Among them, polytetrafluoroethylene micro powder has both smoothing and thickening effects, good compatibility with fluorosilicone oil, and is irreplaceable by other solid smoothing agents.
With the increase of PTFE micro powder dosage, the sintering load of fluorosilicone oil smooth grease has greatly improved, but the anti-wear and friction reduction performance has not been well improved; The oil absorption of PTFE micro powder is better. Both nanoscale and micrometer scale PTFE micro powders have thickening properties as thickeners for smooth greases:
One reason is that when the smooth grease reaches the same micro cone penetration, the amount of nanoscale PTFE micro powder is less than that of micrometer scale PTFE micro powder.
Secondly, as the amount of nanoscale PFE micro powder increases, the friction coefficient and wear marks of the smooth grease change very little; As the amount of micrometer sized PTFE micro powder increases, the friction coefficient and wear marks of the smooth grease change significantly, indicating that the coarser particles of the thickener actually play a role in abrasive wear.
Thirdly, both nanoscale and micrometer scale PTFE powders can improve the sintering load of smooth grease, but the more amount added, the better; When the amount of PTFE micro powder added increases to a certain level, the sintering load of the smooth grease does not change significantly.
The fourth is that the good mass fraction of nanoscale PTFE is 26%, and the good mass fraction of micrometer scale PTFE is 32%. In addition, the application of fluorosilicone oil smooth grease also needs to be based on practical conditions and requirements, and other solid smooth agents such as aluminum disulfide, para polystyrene, tungsten disulfide, and graphite should be reasonably added to improve its anti friction and anti-wear performance.
